Community service opportunities: December
The Office of Community Service has several service opportunities available during the month of December. To register for one of the service opportunities listed below, or to view all service opportunities, visit the Community Service website.

Dec. 2: Emmanuel Church soup kitchen
Volunteers are needed from 3-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 to help set up for dinner, serve and clean up at Emmanuel Church’s monthly soup kitchen. This service site is on the trolley line, and volunteers should consult the trolley schedule.
Dec. 6: Emmanuel Church neighborhood breakfast program
Volunteers are needed from 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 to help set up for breakfast, serve, and clean up at Emmanuel Church’s monthly Neighborhood Breakfast program. This service site is on the trolley line, and volunteers should consult the trolley schedule.
Dec. 6: Pell Elementary School craft fair
Volunteers are needed from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 for Pell Elementary School’s second annual Holiday Craft Fair. This craft fair is a PTO fundraiser and all proceeds benefit Pell students. Van transportation is available – pick up at Miley Hall at 9:10 a.m., return at 2 p.m.
Dec. 14: Emmanuel Church’s greening of the church
Volunteers are needed from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 to help decorate the church for Christmas. This service site is on the trolley line, and volunteers should consult the trolley schedule.
Dec. 15 and 16: Salvation Army toy sorting
Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 and Tuesday, Dec. 16 to help the Salvation Army sort donated toys. This service opportunity will take place at the Bellevue Gardens Shopping Center, located at 181 Bellevue Ave. (north end of the building, closest to William Street). This service site is on the trolley line, and volunteers should consult the trolley schedule.
