Community service opportunities: November
The Office of Community Service has several service opportunities available during the month of November. To register for one of the service opportunities listed below, or to view all service opportunities, visit the Community Service website.

Saturday, Nov. 4: Race for Open Space
Volunteers are needed from 9:15-11:30 a.m. to help with the Aquidneck Land Trust’s Race for Open Space. Duties include race registration, helping at street crossings along the race course and spotting/directing runners along the race course. Van transportation is provided.
Tuesday, Nov. 7: Emmanuel Church Soup Kitchen
Volunteers are needed from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to set up, work and clean up the soup kitchen. This site is located on the trolley line.
Thursday, Nov. 16: God’s Community Garden
Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to noon to help prep the gardens for winter. Van transportation is provided.
Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18: Emmanuel Church Holiday Fair
Volunteers are needed from 4-9 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to help greet, set up and organize during the holiday fair. Friday shifts are 4-6 p.m., 6-8 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday shifts are 7:30-9:30 a.m., 9:30-11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. This site is located on the trolley line.
Saturday, Nov. 18: Fall Recycling Day
Volunteers are needed at Easton’s (First) Beach from 8 a.m. to noon to set up the event, help traffic flow, greet and breakdown the event. This site is located on the trolley line.
Monday, Nov. 20 and Monday, Nov. 27: James L. Maher Center
Volunteers are needed from 8:30-10:30 a.m. to help deliver Christmas trees. Van transportation is provided.
Monday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Nov. 28: Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Volunteers are needed from 5-8 p.m. to ring the Salvation Army bells at the Stop & Shop on Bellevue Avenue. This site is located on the trolley line.
