Community service opportunities: Oct. 1-15
The Office of Community Service has several service opportunities available in the next two weeks. To register for one of the service opportunities listed below, or to view all service opportunities, visit the Community Service website.

Nutrition education program
Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays in October to help with Farm Fresh Rhode Island’s nutrition education program “Healthy Foods, Healthy Families,” which is held at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. Van transportation is provided – pick up at Miley Hall at 2:45 p.m., return at 6 p.m. Volunteer cap: 12.
Oct. 4-5: 40th annual Harvest Fair
Volunteers are needed at the Norman Bird Sanctuary on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 to help with arts and crafts, children’s games and entertainment. Van transportation is provided – pick up at Miley Hall at 12:30 p.m., return at 5 p.m. Volunteer cap: 12.
Oct. 7: Emmanuel Church soup kitchen
Volunteers are needed Tuesday, Oct. 7 for Emmanuel Church’s monthly soup kitchen. Van transportation is provided – pick up at Miley Hall at 2:45 p.m., return at 5 p.m.
Oct. 14: St. Paul’s Church
Volunteers are needed Tuesday, Oct. 14 to bake desserts for the Warm Up Wednesday program sponsored by St. Paul’s Church. Volunteers will meet in the Mercy Center for Spiritual Life from 6-8 p.m. All supplies will be provided. Transportation is not available for this on-campus event.
