Community service opportunities: September
The Office of Community Service has several service opportunities available during the month of September. To register for one of the service opportunities listed below, or to view all service opportunities, visit the Community Service website.

Sunday, Sept. 18: Sharkfest Swim
Volunteers are needed from 7-10 a.m. to check swimmers in and out at the start and finish lines during Clean Ocean Access’s fourth annual Sharkfest swim in Newport harbor. Volunteers are also needed from 8-10 a.m. to help with water safety using a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Van transportation will be provided.
Saturday, Sept. 24: Alumni Day of Service
Current students are invited to volunteer alongside alumni, families and friends during the second annual Alumni Day of Service. Participants will volunteer from 10-11:30 a.m. at God’s Community Gardens (formerly known as Methodist Community Gardens), located at 200 Turner Road in Middletown. Transportation is not provided.
Sunday, Sept. 25: Cluny Country Fair
Volunteers are needed from noon to 4 p.m. to run small games and activities during Cluny School’s annual Country Fair. Van transportation will be provided.
Tuesday, Sept. 27 and Wednesday, Sept. 28: Bloodmobile
Volunteers are needed from noon to 6 p.m. to help with the Rhode Island Blood Center’s blood drive at the Rodgers Recreation Center. Two-hour shifts are available. Time slots are noon to 2 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Transportation is not available for this on-campus event.
