Department hosting performances by iMEE Dance Company
The Department of Music, Theatre and Dance will host two weekend performances of iMEE Dance Company’s first full program of multidisciplinary contemporary dance offered to Rhode Island audiences.
Performances of “the sum of 4 / + one” will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 in the Antone Academic Center’s Megley Theatre.
iMEE is a professional touring dance company dedicated to presenting new works and collaborating with other dance organizations. The company offers performance opportunities to professional guest artists, established and emerging choreographers, young artists, musicians, vocalists, theatrical artists and visual artists. With its “mix-it-up” collaborative of artistic genres, iMEE strives to provide programs that are innovative, passionate and energetic.
“the sum of 4 / + one” features concept and choreography by iMEE founding directors Andrea Dawn Shelley and Spencer Gavin Hering and video landscape/film shorts by Houston Ballet soloist Oliver Halkowich. Shelley is an adjunct faculty member at Salve Regina and Hering is a guest choreographer for the dance program.
