Di Sano named first team all-New England catcher
Dominic Di Sano ’14 has been named to the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) first team as a catcher.
Also a first-team honoree on the Commonwealth Coast Conference all-league team, Di Sano represents the conference as its only selection to the first team New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association squad.
Di Sano stood out among all catchers in the region. He combined his defensive duties and handling of the Seahawk pitching staff with a productive offensive game. Di Sano ranked seventh in the league in RBI (34) while batting .354 with 13 doubles, one triple and three home runs. His .538 slugging percentage topped all Seahawks while ranking fourth in the conference.
Di Sano becomes the first Seahawk since Justin Collett in 2009 to be chosen to the NEIBA all-New England team, and 16th overall. He’s also the first Salve Regina catcher to earn the honor since Ryan Holleran had back-to-back selections as a junior (2002) and senior (2003).
