Doctoral candidates to defend dissertations

Faculty, staff and graduate students are encouraged to attend any or all of the dissertation defense presentations scheduled this semester. In addition, any undergraduate students who may be considering the pursuit of a Ph.D. are welcome to attend.
Those interested may view a copy of the documents in person by making an appointment with Melissa Davis, coordinator of special academic projects and programs. She may be reached at melissa.davis@salve.edu.
All presentations will be held in the McKillop Library’s special collections room.
Tom Choinski will defend his dissertation at 4 p.m. Friday, March 10. The dissertation is titled “Dramaturgy, Wargaming and Technological Innovation in the United States Navy: Four Historical Case Studies.”
Garrett Dell will defend his dissertation at 1 p.m. Friday, March 31. The dissertation is titled “Ambivalence toward Technology in Robert Pinsky’s Poetry.”
James Ricci will defend his dissertation at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7. The dissertation is titled “A Monument to Perseverance: The Struggle to Build the Newport Bridge, 1945-1969.”
Sasha Ruggieri will defend her dissertation at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 7. The dissertation is titled “Social Transformation Through Art: Slow Food Ideology and the Social Protest Novel.”
