Donohue named national co-hitter of the week
Daniel Donohue ’14 picked up his second weekly award as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named him the national co-hitter of the week.
Donohue led the Seahawks to a 6-1 week, and a 7-3 trip in Fort Myers, Fla., to open the season. The shortstop hit .586 on the week with 15 runs batted in, 11 runs scored and five doubles. Dononue hit safely in all seven games last week while driving in or scoring at least one run in each of the games.
Joining Donohue with national recognition is Kevin Lambert ’14, who was named as an honorable mention pitcher after posting a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in 6.0 innings. Lambert did not give up a hit while striking out six batters.
The baseball team opens its conference schedule on Saturday, March 23, when the Seahawks host Eastern Nazarene College in a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.
