Elster earns academic all-district recognition
Jordan Elster ’19 has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America’s academic all-district team for men’s soccer.
Elster, who was recently honored as the Commonwealth Coast Conference’s senior scholar athlete for men’s soccer, now advances to the academic all-America team ballot. First, second and third team honorees will be selected later this month.
“(With) the commitment and dedication that Jordan has displayed in the classroom, in the gym and on the field, he keeps raising the bar and winning these types of awards,” said head coach Craig O’Rourke II. “He is just the absolute epitome of academic and athletic excellence. He is quite simply the best true ‘student-athlete’ that we have and it’s going to be a momentous task to replace everything that he has done for our program when he graduates this spring.”
For his career, Elster played in 70 matches, started 60, scored two goals and assisted on eight. He advances to the national ballot for the first time, and joins Joseph Pate ’16 as the only other Seahawk men’s soccer player to earn all-district honors.
