Faculty invited to pedagogical lunch series

Faculty members are invited to attend a series of pedagogical lunches sponsored by the Advisory Committee on Faculty Development and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Lunches will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Miley Hall executive dining room on the following dates: Tuesday, Sept. 15; Wednesday, Sept. 16; Wednesday, Oct. 7; Tuesday, Nov. 3; and Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Recognizing that there are tremendous resources within the faculty itself, the lunch series aims to make it easier for faculty to benefit from the knowledge of their peers. The idea is very simple, namely to gather over lunch and have conversations about experiences, successes, challenges and techniques of teaching.

This is an opportunity for faculty to share teaching strategies they have used in the past or are currently using, including successes and challenges from their own teaching experiences. This is also a time to get advice from colleagues about how to successfully implement new teaching techniques, get ideas for new techniques or just provide mutual support.
