Fall Festival Weekend turns into month-long October Family Fest with virtual events for students and families
Fall Festival Weekend, an annual weekend event held by the Office of Alumni, Parent and Family Programs where parents and families come to visit their Salve Regina students and enjoy participating in a wide variety of events and activities, had to change this year because of the coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions.
But the Office of Alumni, Parent and Family Programs decided to embrace this new opportunity to try out new things. For 2020, the Fall Festival Weekend is now a month-long list of virtual events and activities called October Family Fest that the entire family can enjoy.
“We quickly realized that we weren’t restricted to hosting events just during the weekend that parents and families were on campus,” said Gerry Willis, director of the Office of Alumni, Parent and Family Programs. “The technology exists for us to offer some really great programs and events to parents virtually. While nothing is as good as actually having parents and families on our campus, we’re excited to offer the next best thing – and our staff, students, faculty and alumni are all excited to be a part of it.”
With engaging and informative events scheduled throughout the month, October Family Fest will feature an array of virtual activities for parents, families, alumni and students to connect with the Salve Regina community.
Join any of the many presentations and conversations, including coffee with President Kelli J. Armstrong, chats with faculty members and more.
