Female students invited to apply for leadership program
Female students interested in learning how to be better, more effective leaders are invited to participate in the prestigious National Education for Women (NEW) leadership program this summer.
NEW Leadership New England is a leadership training program designed to educate and empower young women and give them the skills to be part of the next generation of women leaders. NEW Leadership New England will host its annual five-day summer program for undergraduate women June 3–8 on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
As part of its investment in leadership development, the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy will cover the $650 cost to attend this program for up to two women from Salve Regina.
The program will include workshops for students to actively develop leadership skills such as public speaking and networking, as well as presentations from politically active women throughout New England. Participants will also benefit from faculty-in-residence, a group of women public leaders who serve as mentors for students throughout their stay.
Students who are interested in applying should complete an application and submit it to Jennifer Jensen, associate dean of students, by Monday, Feb. 26. The required personal essay and two letters of recommendation should also be submitted by this date. Up to two applications will be put forth to the main applicant pool by the March 10 deadline.
