First Year and Exploratory Programs offering series of workshops
Throughout the spring 2013 semester, the Office of First Year and Exploratory Programs is offering a series of workshops designed to help students explore the various majors and minors at Salve Regina.
In addition to the workshops listed below, students are encouraged to participate in the course sit-in program, which gives undecided students the opportunity to explore coursework without formally registering for a course. Approval forms are available in McAuley Hall, Room 209.
Declaring Your Major: The Basics
5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 in McAuley Hall, Room 107
The process of declaring a major and/or minor will be explained in-depth, along with the process of exploring the various majors and minors to best fit your academic, personal and career goals.
Why I Love Modern Languages
5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 in McAuley Hall, Room 107
Faculty, alumni and current students will share why they love the department and why modern languages are important.
Major Myths
5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in McAuley Hall, Room 107
Students are encouraged to make sure they know the important myths surrounding majors well before registration for fall 2013.
Out and About
Noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 8 in the O’Hare Academic Center lobby
The Office of First Year and Exploratory Programs will be out and about on campus to answer student questions regarding majors and minors and the declaration process.
Upperclassmen Group Advising
5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the McKillop Library, Room 106
This group advising session for upperclassmen will be offered before the registration period to ensure that any lingering advising questions are answered.
Freshmen Group Advising
5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21 in the McKillop Library, Room 106
This group advising session for freshmen will be offered before the registration period to ensure that freshmen advising questions are answered.
