Five Seahawks earn conference honors
Congratulations to the following student athletes, who recently received honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference:
Women’s cross country: Alex Demeo ’19
Running in the No. 3 spot for the Seahawks, Demeo was named rookie of the week after finishing with a personal best time of 20:05.09 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational, earning 75th place out of 315 runners.
Men’s cross country: Sean Hughes ’16
Hughes was named runner of the week after helping the Seahawks earn 24th place out of 43 teams in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational. The top Commonwealth Coast Conference finisher, he finished the five-mile run with a time of 27:03.32 to place 74th out of 324 runners.
Women’s cross country: Amy Irving ’17
Irving was named runner of the week after earning 14th place in a 315-person field at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational. She traversed the 5K trail in 18:43, leading all Seahawk runners. Salve Regina earned a ninth-place finish out of 42 teams in the invitational.
Men’s cross country: Tyler Lancaster ’19
Lancaster was named rookie of the week after finishing the five-mile University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational in a personal best time of 28:55.90. His performance helped the Seahawks earn 24th place out of 43 teams.
Women’s soccer: Abby McMackin ’19
McMackin was named rookie of the week after collecting her sixth goal of the season (tied for the CCC lead) in the Seahawks’ 3-2 win at Gordon College. Her unassisted marker in the 52nd minute kicked off a three-goal rally that solidified Salve Regina’s first conference victory of the year and evened the Seahawks’ overall record at 3-3.
