Five women’s volleyball players named to All-CCC team
Five students have been named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women’s volleyball team, with Megan Clancy ’13, Jennifer Duggan ’15 and Taylor Violet ’15 earning second team honors and Katelyn Beauregard ’15 and Erin McGloin ’15 each garnering honorable mention.
Clancy currently leads the conference with an average of 5.59 digs per set and has recorded a team-best .961 reception percentage. She has earned two CCC libero of the week awards this season, and broke the Salve Regina record for digs on Oct. 20. She recorded 25 or more digs in a match 10 times this season.
Duggan was Salve Regina’s top attacker this season, leading the team with 268 kills, ranking eighth in the conference with 2.68 kills per set. Duggan was also third on the team with 226 digs, averaging 2.66 digs per set. She was named the CCC offensive player of the week twice and recorded eight double-doubles on the year.
Violet finished the regular season ranked fourth in the conference with an average of 7.14 assists per set. She also placed second on the team in aces (37) and fourth in both digs (211) and blocks (21). She compiled more than 25 assists in a match 15 times this year.
Beauregard was the Seahawks’ most efficient attacker this season, ranking seventh in the conference with a team-best .246 hitting percentage. She is currently third on the team with 33 blocks while her 1.67 kills per set average placed her fourth on the club.
McGloin gave the Seahawks a formidable presence at the net this season. She led the entire conference with 92 blocks and an average of 0.94 blocks per set. She also ranked second on the team with 132 kills, averaging 1.35 kills per set. She recorded four or more blocks in 10 matches this year.
