Gintoli grabs rookie of the week award

Peter Gintoli ’16 has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast men’s ice hockey rookie of the week. This marks the second straight week the Seahawks have earned the award, with Marc Biggs ’16 receiving the honor last week.

Gintoli had a terrific showing at the 2012 Bowdoin/Colby Faceoff Classic last weekend, leading the Seahawks with four points over two games. He compiled three points on two goals and an assist during the Seahawks tough 6-5 loss to ninth-ranked Bowdoin on Saturday, before helping the Seahawks to a 4-3 win over Colby on Sunday by assisting on the game-winning score in the third period.

Gintoli is currently second on the team with eight points this season, placing him just one point shy of the league lead for rookie scoring. The Seahawks will be back in action Wednesday, Nov. 28 when they host Johnson & Wales University in an ECAC Northeast matchup starting at 7:35 p.m. at Portsmouth Abbey.
