Gwozdz, Walther earn all-conference accolades
Salve Regina’s top two singles players – Kasey Walther ’16 and Ana Gwozdz ’14 – have been named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference all-league team for women’s tennis.
Walther logged her playing time in the No. 1 singles position for the Seahawks to earn her second-team singles honor. Her overall record of 2-4 includes straight-set wins over Sharon Lemire of Eastern Nazarene College and Lily Drescher of Gordon College.
Gwozdz, a first-team all-conference doubles performer two years ago as a freshman, moved up to No. 2 singles in the Seahawk lineup for the first time and earned her first all-conference singles recognition with honorable mention. She played three times in the No. 1 singles position when Walther was unable to play.
