Hispanic Heritage Month culminates with celebration
Students are invited to celebrate the culmination of Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, Oct. 14 with food, games and crafts celebrating this rich culture. The celebration will be held from 6-8 p.m. in Ochre Lodge.
Sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Programs and Retention, the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is open to all students. Ochre Lodge residents and students participating in the office’s Seahawk to Seahawk mentorship program are particularly encouraged to attend.
Offered to all first-year students, the mentorship program helps to guide students through their transition to the Salve Regina community. New members are accepted on a rolling basis, and interested students are invited to attend the celebration and learn more about the program.
Ochre Lodge is home to the University’s multicultural living learning community, which is open to sophomores who are dedicated to diversity. The multicultural house provides a unique opportunity for students to live in an inclusive community dedicated to promoting the understanding of difference and purposefully sharing unique experiences with the rest of the campus community.
Members of the Class of 2020 will be invited to apply for the multicultural living learning community during the spring semester.
