HR sponsoring “Medicaid and More” workshop
The cost of long-term care can quickly deplete a family’s assets. The Office of Human Resources will help faculty and staff navigate the basics during a “Medicaid and More” workshop scheduled for noon Thursday, Nov. 13.
The workshop will be held in the Miley Hall executive dining room, and lunch will be served to registered participants.
Presented by Eileen Hadfield, an attorney at Harvey Carr Hadfield, and Sasha Cesen, financial services professional at New York Life, the workshop will address the following questions:
- Is it possible to preserve a portion of the family’s estate for your loved ones?
- How do you navigate the application and appeal processes for medical assistance?
- Who should you and your family work with to protect your assets from catastrophic loss in the event that a loved one needs long term care?
Hadfield and Cesen will also discuss some of the asset protection strategies available and provide a summary of the complex rules regarding Medicaid eligibility and qualification. Whether you are planning for the future or facing imminent or current nursing home placement, their experience and knowledge of Medicaid planning and its policies may help you protect your family.
To register for the workshop, contact Cindy Donnelly at (401) 341-3160 or cynthia.donnelly@salve.edu.
