Human Resources sponsoring farm fresh egg deliveries
The Office of Human Resources is offering faculty and staff the chance to purchase fresh eggs from Winter Farm, a poultry farm in Methuen, Mass. The next delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30.
Purchases will support the brothers and sisters of the International Fellowship of St. Bruno, who are working to renovate their chapel and build more hermitages on their three-acre land in Methuen. Following the spirituality of the Carthusien and Carmelite Orders, the brothers and sisters are a small association of hermits vowed and dedicated to a life of silence, solitude and intercessory prayer.
The eggs they sell come from Winter Farm, which has a 30-year history of selling free range eggs from naturally raised chickens, none of which are sold, but instead allowed to live until old age. The farm guarantees the freshness of their eggs, which are collected daily.
The cost of a dozen eggs is $3. It is anticipated that eggs will be delivered to the Office of Human Resources every two weeks, depending on interest level. To participate, contact Cindy Donnelly at (401) 341-3160 or cynthia.donnelly@salve.edu.
