IT consolidates Help Desk services, introduces new card system
The Office of Information Technology has consolidated all Help Desk services for students, faculty and staff to the McKillop Library, Room 008 (garden level).
This move was designed to build a centralized services and support center in the garden level of the library, which currently houses User Support Services, the Center for Teaching and Learning, Mail Services and the Copy Center.
IT will offer extended hours of operation this week to assist students with network registration, Microsoft Office installation and other technology support issues. The Help Desk will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Thursday, Sept. 10. Regular operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition, IT is now supporting the Salve Card office, which is located in the McKillop Library, Room 002 (garden level). For the fall 2015 semester, Salve Regina is implementing a new card system, which will feature contactless technology for door access and a more efficient database system.
While the Card Office will replace missing or malfunctioning ID cards, after-hours building access – including the issuance of temporary cards – will continue to be handled by the Office of Safety and Security.
