Kelly named rookie of the week

The baseball team swept its Commonwealth Coast Conference twin bill opener with Eastern Nazarene College last Saturday, and outfielder Ryan Kelly’s contributions garnered him rookie of the week honors.
Kelly batted .500 with four RBI, eight runs scored, one double, one triple and a stolen base in the two games against Eastern Nazarene, earning the rookie honor for the second straight week.
Winners of nine of their last 10 games, Salve Regina (9-3) cruised to a 23-8 victory in the opener and a 12-6 triumph in the nightcap. The Seahawks will play non-league opponent Rhode Island College at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at Reynolds Field.
