Kelly, Roth named to NEIBA squad
Outfielder Ryan Kelly ’16 and pitcher Vincent Roth ’14 have been named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association’s Division III all-New England second team. Both Kelly and Roth were first team honorees on the Commonwealth Coast Conference all-league team.
Kelly started all 41 games for Salve Regina (26-15) and led the team in home runs (3), runs (44), stolen bases (17) and batting average (.380). His hit-by-pitch school record (38) has been achieved in just two seasons (2013 and 2014) with this year’s mark ranking seventh nationally.
Roth (8-1) ranked 14th nationally in pitching victories. He hurled two complete-game shutouts while maintaining a 1.71 earned run average (49th nationally) in 63.1 innings pitched.
Salve Regina maintained a top 10 ranking in each of the first two NCAA regional polls in 2014 and recorded wins over three of the top teams during the regular season.
