Kelly Scafariello named acting director of athletics
Kelly Scafariello has been named acting director of athletics for Salve Regina, and will be in charge of managing all facets of the University’s athletics programs, including budget management, operations, fundraising initiatives and personnel.
Scafariello joined the Salve Regina community as associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator in the fall of 2012, bringing with her a wealth of experience from both the Division I and Division III levels at institutions such as Northeastern University, Pine Manor College, the University of Central Florida and Brown University.
Scafariello holds a B.A. in communications from Roger Williams University and an MBA from Regis University and is currently completing a master’s degree in education at Northeastern University. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators, National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators and Association of Title IX Administrators.
Outside of Salve Regina, Scafariello is one of 12 senior administrators in the country selected to the prestigious NCAA Pathways Program for 2015. Additionally, she sits as a member of the NACWAA advancement fund committee, is the treasurer and member of the Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletic Women, co-chair of the Commonwealth Coast Conference senior woman administrator committee and a member of the NCAA Division III men’s and women’s track and field committee.
