Kline named senior scholar athlete for women’s lacrosse
Katie Kline ’18 recently earned the Commonwealth Coast Conference’s senior scholar-athlete award and was named to the all-conference first team for women’s lacrosse.
Kline has been a solid contributor in the midfield both offensively and defensively for four years. She became the 11th player in program history to top 100 career goals this season, and currently has 115 goals in 59 games played as a Seahawk. A mathematics and secondary education major, Kline is a member the Kappa Delta Pi and Pi Mu Epsilon honor societies, serves as secretary of the Math Club and is an ACE tutor/mentor.
Joining Kline on the all-conference team are Maddie Villareal ’20 (first team) and Gabrielle Majenski ’20 (third team). Villareal leads the Seahawks in goals scored (42) and ranks eighth in total points in the conference. Majenski made the switch from midfield to defense during the season, collecting 31 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers.
Salve Regina (7-9) travels to face Endicott College at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 in the semifinal round of the conference playoffs.
