McKeon, Parks named NEILA academic all-region
Curtis McKeon ’14 and Dan Parks ’14 have been named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s senior scholar academic all-region team. Members of the team are all graduating seniors who have excelled both in the classroom and on the playing field.
McKeon, the most outstanding player in last Friday’s Eastern College Athletic Conference title game, is a financial management major. Parks, winner of the school’s Brother Michael Reynolds Award, is a mathematics and secondary education major and also played football.
“I know the team, myself and all the staff are proud of Dan and Curtis for their contributions on the field and in the classroom,” said head coach Patrick Cooney. “They are truly student-athletes and have helped our team culture tremendously. We will miss them, but know they will go on to do tremendous things as exemplary ambassadors for Salve Regina.”
To be selected for this team, student-athletes must be in their final year of eligibility, have posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be a significant enough contributor on the field that they were nominated for conference or regional recognition.
