Men’s soccer names two captains for 2016 season
Head coach Craig O’Rourke II has named two captains for the men’s soccer team’s 2016 season: Steven Aston ’17 and Nolan Brady ’17.
“Our program is fortunate to have Steven returning for his senior year this fall. In addition to being an all-conference back on the field, he is the true leader and ‘alpha’ male within our roster that surges to the front and takes charge of all of the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep our program moving forward,” O’Rourke said. “And I’m very pleased to have Nolan joining him in the captaincy. As the reigning offensive player of the year for our conference, Nolan’s skills and abilities are beyond reproach. While Steven leads through his voice and command, Nolan does it through his play and the example that he sets to the rest of the roster.”
Aston enters his fourth year as a Seahawk, having earned all-conference honors as a back the past two seasons. This will be his second year as a captain of the program.
Brady scored 12 goals and notched three assists in 2015 to lead the Seahawks. His most prolific stretch last season came in October, when he notched five goals in back-to-back wins over Roger Williams University and Eastern Nazarene College.
The Seahawks open the 2016 season Sept. 2 at Plattsburgh State University.
