Several members of the men’s and women’s soccer teams recently received all-conference honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Men’s soccer
Jordan Elster ’19 was named to the first team, while Donald Igo ’20 and Matthew O’Donnell ’19 were named to the second team.
“I’m pleased to see our players garner these individual accolades,” said head coach Craig O’Rourke II. “Jordan has been very steady and consistent for us all year and I’m happy to see the conference recognize him as a first team selection. Matt has been arguably one of our best players for the past few seasons and I would struggle to contemplate what our season might look like right now if it wasn’t for what Donnie has done for us in terms of goal scoring and tactical awareness.”
Midfielders Igo and O’Donnell rank first and third on the team in goals, with Igo tied for third in the league in both goals and points (23). Elster, a right back, scored one goal and assisted on two others; his lone goal was a Sept. 13 game-winner at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Women’s soccer
Courtney Bouchard ’18 and Abby McMackin ’19 were named to the second team.
“I’m very proud of both Courtney and Abby on their all-conference recognition,” said head coach Jane Walsh. “Both young women have worked tirelessly to improve themselves and their teammates. Their performances on and off the field are well deserving of these accolades.”
McMackin ranks third in the league in both goals scored (11) and points (27). She had an overtime game-winner at Bridgewater State University and another game-winner at home against defending conference champion Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Bouchard shares the team lead with McMackin with five assists. She also has three goals, including a Sept. 28 game-winner versus Fitchburg State University.
