Nancy Schreiber named provost/vice president for academic affairs
Dr. Nancy Schreiber, dean of The Bill Mundy School of Business at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, has been named the new provost and vice president of academic affairs. She will start on July 1.
“I am so thrilled to be joining the Salve community, an environment where learning is fostered with personalized care and attention and together, we will boldly live out the mercy mission,” she said.
While serving as dean at St. Edward’s, Schreiber led efforts to innovate both the graduate and undergraduate curricula through engaged partnership between the faculty and the Austin business community. She worked to develop new academic programs and educational experiences to embolden students as creative problem solvers who approach work with a moral and ethical desire to benefit the common good.
A common thread of her employment history has been a focus on whole-person formation, which she believes to be a hallmark of Salve Regina’s mission. “I have witnessed how this manner of education empowers and transforms students,” she said.
Prior to her time at St. Edward’s, Schreiber served as senior associate dean and associate dean in the College of Business at the University of Dallas, an independent Catholic university that is also deeply rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.
Schreiber earned her B.A. in sociology from Oberlin College, and both her M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy.
