Newport, Warwick locations sponsoring Thanksgiving food drives
Members of the Salve Regina community are asked to help those less fortunate during the Thanksgiving season by supporting the Feed-A-Friend food drives sponsored by the Office of Community Service and the Center for Adult Education in Warwick.
Office of Community Service
The Office of Community Service’s food drive will benefit Child & Family, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and the Salvation Army. Residence halls, campus offices, sports teams or clubs who would like to assemble a basket should e-mail community.services@salve.edu. All donations should be brought to the Office of Community Service by 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.
Center for Adult Education
The Center for Adult Education’s food drive will benefit the Rhode Island Food Bank. Students, faculty and staff who frequent the Warwick site are asked to donate boxed and canned goods. All donations should be placed in the collection boxes in the reception area by Friday, Nov. 16.
Suggested donations include:
- Stuffing
- Canned peas, carrots, corn, fruit, yams and/or beans
- Cranberry sauce
- Instant potatoes
- Olives
- Pickles
- Paper plates
- Utensils
- Crackers
- Cookie, cake and brownie mix
- Vegetable oil
- Saran wrap
- Cans of gravy
- Gift card to a grocery store to purchase a turkey
- Please do not include perishable items
