Pascale, Tepper earn conference honors
Congratulations to Sam Pascale ’17, who recently received honors from the New England Football Conference, and Abigail Tepper ’16, who recently received honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Pascale was named offensive player of the week for football after rushing for a school-record 265 yards on 33 carries in Salve Regina’s 35-6 win over Nichols College. He posted two rushing touchdowns, opening the scoring with a 1-yard run and closing it with an 11-yard scamper. The 265 rushing yards broke the previous school record of 262 yards in a single game.
Salve Regina (5-1, 3-1 NEFC) plays at Massachusetts Institute of Technology at noon Saturday, Oct. 31.
Tepper was named offensive player of the week for field hockey after scoring four goals in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks. In a 4-2 triumph over Roger Williams University, she scored a goal on a pass from teammate Marissa Gagnon ’16. In a 5-0 win against Western New England University, Tepper posted a hat trick, raising her goals per game mark to 1.53, which ranks fifth in Division III.
The Seahawks’ 15 wins mark a program high. Salve Regina (15-2, 8-1 CCC) shares first place in the league standings and takes a 12-game win streak to play against Nichols College Wednesday, Oct. 28 before finishing the regular season with a showdown for top seed at University of New England Saturday, Oct. 31.
