Phalon named ECAC player of the week
Ice hockey forward Danielle Phalon ’16 has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference women’s East player of the week.
Phalon had three goals and three assists during a 2-0-1 week for the Seahawks. She tallied at least one point in each of the three games, and had a four-point outing (two goals and two assists) in a 7-1 win over Sacred Heart University.
Salve Regina came just 10 seconds shy of a 3-0 week last week. On Dec. 3 at Wesleyan University, Salve Regina had a pair of late goals from Michaela Chiuccariello ’15 and Taylor Shepherd ’15 to overtake the Cardinals, 3-2.
Colby College gave the Seahawks a taste of their own medicine with a game-tying goal at 19:50 in the third. Salve Regina killed a penalty in the scoreless overtime session, its fourth extra period of the season.
The Seahawks next play at Middlebury College on Jan. 8.
