Phalon named to all-America team for women’s ice hockey
Danielle Phalon ’16 has been named to the HERO Sports 2016 Division III women’s ice hockey all-America team. This season, she led Salve Regina in goals (17) and points (25) and was also named an all-conference forward for the New England Hockey Conference.
“Danielle has been a great student athlete for Salve Regina University,” said head coach Beth McCann. “She has been a key element to our programs’ success over her four-year career at Salve Regina, offensively and defensively. It is great to have her recognized by our organizations regionally and nationally and she is well deserving of this award. She has set the bar for women’s ice hockey student athletes at Salve Regina. It is with great pride that I congratulate her and her family on her great successes in her time here.”
Phalon finishes her four-year career at Salve Regina as the all-time leading goal scorer (56) and second on the all-time scoring list with 100 points. She is just the second player in program history to reach the 100-point threshold in a career.
