Residential communities based on French, Spanish languages
In fall 2014, Salve Regina will launch two residential living and learning communities based around the French and Spanish languages – Casa Espanola and La Maison Francaise.
These communities of students will live in two dedicated houses on campus with shared kitchen and living space. Students will live alongside a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant, a visiting native speaker of the house language, and take a community language honor code. The community will plan cultural events, allowing for students to advance their communication skills in the language as well as their knowledge of the cultures behind the language.
“This opportunity is perfect for students majoring or minoring in language, students returning from or considering study abroad, heritage speakers or for any student interested in the target languages and cultures,” said Erin FitzGerald, director of international programs.
Applications are due Monday, Feb. 17 and are available from the Office of International Programs and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages. Applications should be submitted to emily.colbertcairns@salve.edu or dropped off in McAuley Hall, Room 235.
