Roundtable discussion to follow screening of “Timbuktu”
The 2014 film “Timbuktu” will be the subject of an upcoming roundtable discussion sponsored by the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy. The roundtable will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 8 in the Miley Hall executive dining room.
A 2015 Academy Award nominee for best foreign film, “Timbuktu” is a timely story about a family living in a town taken over by religious fundamentalists. The film will be screened Thursday, April 7 in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall as part of the French Film Festival. Led by Dr. Dean de la Motte, professor in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, this roundtable discussion will explore the issues the film raises.
Roundtable discussions are open to Salve Regina students, faculty and staff. The Pell Center provides a free lunch. As space is limited, those interested in attending should RSVP to (401) 341-2927 or pellcenter@salve.edu.
