Salve Regina field hockey earns academic honors
The field hockey team recently received the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III national academic team award, marking the 12th consecutive year that the team has earned this honor.
In addition to the team award, nine Seahawk players were named to the academic squad: Taylor Bulis ’21, Abigail Dubuc ’22, Hannah Filiault ’20, Ciara Labbe ’21, Samantha Levey ’22, Natalie Reid ’20, Eliza Timms ’22 and Kristen Wales ’22.
“To be recognized for the 12th year in a row for the team academic award is a great accomplishment for our program,” said head coach Jennifer Foster. “It shows our team’s continued focus and commitment to being student-athletes. Our players, who study a variety of majors, do a wonderful job of balancing their academic and athletic commitments.”
To be recognized for the academic team award, teams must compile a combined GPA of at least 3.00 or better during the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. To be eligible for individual honors, student-athletes are required to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year.
