Salve Regina hosting annual multi-sport clinic for girls
Salve Regina will host its ninth annual multi-sports clinic for girls in grades 2-6 at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Friday, April 7.
Student-athletes from various teams will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and fundamentals of their respective sports. Last year, representatives from the basketball, ice hockey, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, track and field and volleyball teams were among those in attendance. The clinic runs from 6-8 p.m. and pizza will be served following the clinic.
The annual clinic coincides with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which has become the premiere occasion to celebrate the participation, success and accomplishments of girls and women athletes. What started in 1987 as a single event to honor Olympic volleyball star Flo Hyman has grown into a nationwide celebration across all 50 states.
