Salve Regina hosting summer camps for young athletes
Several camps for young athletes are planned for the summer months at Salve Regina, in sports ranging from lacrosse and field hockey to basketball and squash.
GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp
July 10-13
The GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp for girls aged 8-17 focuses on giving each camper individual attention to enhance their personal improvement. The cost of the program is $625 for overnight stays and $495 for extended days. The camp will be directed by Clarissa Clarke, head coach at Loomis Chaffee and a volunteer coach at Fairfield University.
Talbott Squash Academy
July 16-22
The Talbott Squash Academy for boys and girls aged 13-17 offers on-court work such as individual and group instruction, drills and match play and off-court training composed of aerobic and anaerobic exercise, stretching, plyometrics and a variety of fun games. The cost of the program is $1,950. The sessions will be conducted by Mark Talbott, head coach of the Stanford University squash teams.
Revolution Field Hockey Camp
July 24-27
The Revolution Field Hockey Camp for girls aged 10-18 provides challenging training sessions designed to develop each camper’s mental and physical endurance. The cost of the program is $565 for overnight stays and $465 for extended days. The camp will be directed by Salve Regina head coach Jennifer Foster.
Men’s Basketball Camp
Aug. 6
This basketball camp for boys who have completed grades 8-12 gives athletes the opportunity to learn more about Salve Regina and engage in the proper fundamentals of the game of basketball while maximizing their enjoyment. The camp will be directed by Sean Foster, who is entering his 15th season as head men’s basketball coach at Salve Regina. The cost of the program is $75.
Men’s Lacrosse Camp
Aug. 9
Hosted by the Salve Regina coaching staff and current Seahawk student-athletes, this camp is designed for high school players who wish to compete at the next level. Campers will have a realistic experience of what it’s like to compete as an intercollegiate student-athlete. The cost of the program is $125.
Baseball Prospect Camp
Sept. 3
The camp for grades 9-12 is open to players of all levels. The morning session will include a pro-style workout, drills, batting practice, campus tours, arm maintenance and routines for pitchers. The afternoon session will include a simulated scrimmage or pitcher bullpens. The cost of the program is $125.
