Salve Regina hosting world champion of public speaking
The Salve Regina chapter of Toastmasters International will host Ryan Avery, the youngest world champion of public speaking in history, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall.
“How to Make it a Great Speech” is designed to help attendees:
- Discover how to advance in their career
- Learn the secrets to writing a great speech
- Deliver presentations with confidence
- Influence their audience to take action
- Uncover ways to add humor to their speech
“This will be a great opportunity for our students to connect with an award-winning speaker who has accomplished so much at such a young age,” said Kailey Fitzgerald, Salve Regina’s corporate giving officer.
Avery is the co-founder of AveryToday and managing partner at How to Be a Speaker, where he helps aspiring speakers find and deliver their messages. He has worked with clients such as Nike, Toyota, Nissan, Safeway and Bank of America.
An Emmy Award-winning journalist, Avery graduated from Colorado State University in 2009. He competed against more than 30,000 people from 116 countries to claim Toastmasters’s 2012 world championship of public speaking title. Avery is devoted to helping students and young professionals discover their true potential and is passionate about helping others communicate to make a difference.
