Salve Regina to award 653 degrees during 65th Commencement
President Jane Gerety, RSM, will confer 653 degrees on Sunday, May 17 when the University celebrates its 65th Commencement on the oceanside lawn of McAuley Hall. The academic procession steps off at 9:15 a.m., with the ceremony scheduled to begin beneath the Commencement tent along the Cliff Walk at 10 a.m.
Sister Jane will confer 451 baccalaureate degrees, 192 master’s degrees and 10 doctorates.
Michelle Kwan, the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history who now devotes her time to public service as a State Department official and Special Olympics International board member, will present the Commencement address and be awarded an honorary doctorate in humane letters. J. Timothy O’Reilly, Newport Harbor Corporation chairman and longtime University trustee, will also be awarded an honorary doctorate in humane letters during the ceremony.
