Salve Regina’s 44th Annual Governor’s Ball will be held virtually
In 1977, Salve Regina, along with the assistance of Governor J. Joseph Garrahy, established the Governor’s Ball as a means to introduce outside support for the University and to raise scholarship funds for the students of Salve Regina. This act of goodwill has benefited thousands of students over the years. To date, the ball has raised $9 million and has become the official kick-off to the holiday season in Rhode Island.
For the past 43 years, the Governor’s Ball has proven to be a celebration of joy, generosity, dancing and ice cream. While this year may look different due to the coronavirus pandemic, Salve Regina will still gather in spirit to celebrate the support for Salve Regina students in need.
Salve Regina’s 44th Annual Governor’s Ball is coming to one’s living room on Dec. 5 at 8 p.m.! Join the University as it recognizes the generosity of Salve Regina alumni, parents, and friends and the dreams that their gifts help to make come true.
If someone has not been able to attend the Governor’s Ball in the past, this may be the perfect opportunity to attend virtually and contribute to the festive holiday spirit in a unique way during a year of so many unprecedented moments. So find a favorite dancing partner, wear an outfit of choice, pour a glass of holiday cheer and join Salve Regina as the tradition keeps going.
