Second annual Salve Day of Giving is March 24
One day, one Salve. Students, employees, alumni, parents and friends will unite for the second annual Salve Day of Giving on Thursday, March 24. Rooted in the Salve Regina mission of mercy and philanthropy, this new tradition encourages the University community to coalesce around a shared cause – celebrating and supporting every aspect of the student experience.
A Salve Regina education is multifaceted. It involves the intellectual, the emotional, the physical, the social and the spiritual. Salve Day of Giving celebrates that in its entirety. Whether a student’s passion lies in scholarship, wellness, athletics, the arts or inclusion, there is bound to be a way that Salve Regina speaks to their hearts.
Last year’s inaugural Salve Day of Giving exceeded all expectations, sparking a wave of generosity that directly impacted each and every one of us at Salve – from scholarships to the SALVEfund to the University’s 70+ student organizations.
“We are excited to build on last year’s success with the second annual Salve Day of Giving,” said Ashley Dwyer ’22, vice president of the Student Government Association. “Last year, the Salve Regina community came together for the students, and I can’t wait to experience that feeling of unity again. As someone who is an active participant in several student-run organizations, I have seen firsthand the difference a single gift can make.”
For a student organization like Pitches With Attitude, Salve Regina’s all-female a capella group, Salve Day of Giving has the potential to make dreams come true. After performing locally at many on- and off-campus events, Pitches With Attitude has their eye on the prize for the future – traveling to Orlando, Florida, to perform at Disney World.
This year’s goal is 725 individual donors and early gifts are being accepted through the Salve Day of Giving website, where donors can choose their favorite scholarship, team, student organization or academic initiative.
