Sigma Phi Sigma accepting nominations for membership
Sigma Phi Sigma, Salve Regina’s chapter of the national mercy honor society, is accepting nominations for membership. Full-time freshmen, sophomores and juniors who exemplify the values of scholarship, fidelity and service are eligible to apply.
Salve Regina has had a Sigma Phi Sigma chapter on campus since the founding of this national mercy honor society in 1956, and its members continue to represent the University in the pursuit of continuing the ideals of the Sisters of Mercy as well as the honor society itself. In addition to small group community service, members serve the University at Convocation and the Governor’s Ball.
Nominees must reflect the following:
- Have at least two semesters remaining at Salve Regina before graduation
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4
- Show evidence of upholding the mission and values of Salve Regina
- Reflect a clear demonstration of commitment to volunteer service to the University and/or civic community
Students interested in membership should email Sigma Phi Sigma president Maria Hendrickson by Wednesday, April 10. Faculty and staff are also invited to submit the names of students they wish to nominate for membership in the society to Hendrickson by this date.
