Sousa named ECAC player of the week

Lucas Sousa ’16 has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast player of the week for men’s ice hockey.

Sousa helped the Seahawks to a 2-0 week, including a 6-3 win over Curry College and a 4-1 win over Western New England University. Salve Regina’s win over Curry was the first since the 2000-2001 season.

Sousa had a pair of assists in the win over Curry and added two more in the win over Western New England. He is tied for eighth in the conference with four assists on the season.

Salve Regina returns to the ice at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, when the Seahawks travel to Hartford, Conn. to face off against Trinity College.
