SRU Dance presenting “Burning Up” this weekend
SRU Dance, Salve Regina’s entirely student-run dance organization, will present its spring performance, “Burning Up,” Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 in the Rodgers Recreation Center.
The performance will include more than 20 dances featuring styles such as hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical and Irish step. The club boasts more than 120 performers, who will dance to the music of Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Jessie J and many more.
Friday’s performance will begin at 7 p.m. with admission of at least a $1 donation to the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, while Saturday’s performance will begin at 1 p.m. with admission of $5. At both shows, children young enough to sit on an adult’s lap will be admitted free.
As previously mentioned, the first performance of “Burning Up” will support the Andrea Rizzo Foundation. A Salve Regina graduate, Rizzo was tragically killed by a drunk driver at the age of 24. The foundation named in her honor raises money for children’s cancer research through dance therapy programs.
