Student-athletes hosting annual multi-sport clinic for girls
Salve Regina will host its 11th annual multi-sports clinic for girls in grades K-8 at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Friday, April 5.
Student-athletes and coaches from various teams will be on hand to share their experiences and demonstrate techniques and fundamentals of their respective sports. Salve Regina’s women’s sports include basketball, cross country, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
The clinic runs from 5:30-7 p.m. and pizza will be served following the clinic.
The annual clinic coincides with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which has become the premiere occasion to celebrate the participation, success and accomplishments of girls and women athletes. What started in 1987 as a single event to honor Olympic volleyball star Flo Hyman has grown into a nationwide celebration across all 50 states.
