Students invited to join Learning Unlimited program
Looking for an opportunity to make a difference and/or complete your required community service hours? Consider joining Learning Unlimited, an educational program in which adults with developmental disabilities are partnered with Salve Regina students to learn a variety of life skills.
Learning Unlimited is a life changing, paradigm shifting opportunity that promotes an inclusive learning community at Salve Regina by creating an accessible and welcoming environment for people with developmental disabilities.
In past years, participants have created a book highlighting the defining moments of their lives, displayed their photographs in a gallery exhibit and produced self-advocacy presentations. This year, aside from learning new skills, exploring art mediums, poetry and other interests, participants will collaborate with Unified Theater in an exciting initiative to create a “Spotlight on Ability” production.
Students who are interested in Learning Unlimited are encouraged to attend an information session at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 in McAuley Hall, Room 105. For more information, contact Michele Banks at michele.banks@salve.edu or 401-862-0403.
