Tepper named offensive player of the week
For the third consecutive week, the Commonwealth Coast Conference has named Abigail Tepper ’16 offensive player of the week for field hockey.
Tepper collected 10 points on four goals and two assists in a pair of conference victories. She became Salve Regina’s all-time leading goal scorer with a pair of goals in a 5-0 shutout of Western New England University, snapping a mark that had stood since 2007. Tepper followed with a two-goal, two-assist effort in a 5-4 triumph at Endicott College. The two wins improved the Seahawks’ record to 6-1 in conference play.
The Seahawks (11-2, 6-1 CCC) defeated Bridgewater State University 4-1 on Tuesday, running their current win streak to eight games. Going into that matchup, Tepper ranked third in the country among Division III players in goals per game (1.58), while the Seahawks ranked second overall (5.00) behind only Rhodes College (5.38).
