Three Seahawks earn conference honors
Congratulations to the following student athletes, who recently received honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the New England Football Conference:
Football: Rory McEntee ’15
McEntee was named defensive player of the week after leading the Seahawk defense with a dozen tackles, eight of which were solo, in Salve Regina’s 21-19 win over Maine Maritime Academy. He also had 1-1/2 sacks and an additional tackle for loss. Through eight games, McEntee has recorded 44 tackles, 27 solo, 2.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss.
Field hockey: Abigail Tepper ’16
Tepper was named offensive player of the week after scoring seven goals in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks. Her most impressive performance came in a 7-5 victory over Nichols College, in which she registered four goals and one assist. Earlier in the week, Tepper had a hat trick in a 6-2 victory over rival Roger Williams University.
Men’s ice hockey: Evan Schultz ’18
Schultz was named rookie of the week after playing a role in each of the Seahawks’ goals in a 2-2 tie with Neumann University last weekend. He scored the first goal of the season for Salve Regina and later assisted on a goal by Marc Biggs ’16.
