Title IX and Anti-Discrimination Task Force invites Salve Regina community input
The Title IX and Anti-Discrimination Task Force was appointed by Dr. Kelli J. Armstrong, president of Salve Regina, in February 2023 to examine Salve’s Title IX and anti-discrimination policies, practices, and procedures and recommend improvements to best support participants and outcomes in keeping with the University’s mission.
To inform this work, the task force is hosting open door hours Tuesday, April 25, through Thursday, April 27, to gather the input, experiences and recommendations from Salve Regina’s faculty, staff and students.
- Tuesday, April 25, 3-7:30 p.m., virtual hours, Zoom link here
- Wednesday, April 26: 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., Mercy Center for Spiritual Life’s conference room
- Thursday, April 27: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., Mercy Center for Spiritual Life’s conference room
All Salve faculty, staff and students are invited to participate and share their input with the task force. Task force members will anonymize the feedback received and include this input in their development of recommendations to the president for improvements to Salve Regina’s Title IX and anti-discrimination policies and procedures.
Task force members will be present throughout the scheduled open door hours and will be available to meet with Salve Regina community members individually. Please consult the schedule below for a listing of times specific task force members will be available throughout these three days.
Salve Regina community members currently engaged in a Title IX or anti-discrimination process who would like to give input to the task force are encouraged to meet with one of Salve Regina’s deputy Title IX coordinators to ensure confidentiality is maintained in the process. Deputy Title IX coordinators who are available to meet by appointment and will share anonymized input and recommendations with the task force are: Nancy Escher, nancy.escher@salve.edu (task force member); Susan Bernath, susan.bernath@salve.edu; and Derek Grinkin, derek.grinkin@salve.edu.
If Salve Regina faculty, staff and students would like to offer input or recommendations to task force members outside of these open door hours, please email antidiscrimination@salve.edu. The task force welcomes community feedback via email until Wednesday, May 3.
The Title IX and Anti-Discrimination Task Force will prepare their recommendations to submit to President Armstrong by the end of the spring semester to share with the community this fall.
